Roger Dale Brown Studio Workshop Supply List

Easels- There are easels and small tables available in the studio for you to use or you may bring your own if you prefer.

Paint-
Any quality brand will work. Please do not bring student grade paint. This is my pallete, which I recommend you bring, but you can also bring the pallet you are use to using.

Any brush you use in your studio or on location. These are some of what Rogers uses:

Bristle Filberts #10, 8, 6, 4.....Rosemary or Trekell brushes.
Bristle egbert #8, 6.....Rosemary or Trekell
Bristle flat #12, 8...
Soft hair synthetic filbert. Rosemary Master Series 278 #10, 8, 4
Fan brush Trekell
Synthetic bright "6, 4, 2...Rosemary Ivory
Synthetic  long filbert #2, 1...1use Rosemary eclipse...
I have also been using mop brushes. you can get the sets from Rosemary (Mundy mops)or Trekell or Maxines mops are good, too
1 - 2" chip brush from Home Depot or Lowes 2 inch softening brush, Rosemary
Large.Medium and small size trowel shape palette knife q-tips
old plastic hotel room keys

This is most of what I use outdoors and in studio but I do try different brushes at any given time so I'm sure I will have some different brushes at the workshops but that cannot be helped

Note: These supplies are not in the above sets...you will still need a mop brush, good quality palette knife, hotel key card.


Canvas.
4 small canvases cheap 8x10 or 9x12 canvas panels for exercises. (Alternative - Inexpensive canvas paper pads.

3-4 more canvases that are 16x20 up to 20x24 (Your choice).


Other :
Your own Plein Air sketches and reference images.

Odorless Mineral spirits. I use Gamsol. DO NOT BRING REAL TURP.!
Brush cleaner. Holbien makes a really good one for studio.
Small sketch pad and pencil!
Viewfinder
Paper towels
Plastic shopping bags for trash! Optional. Wet canvas carrier
