During this six-session oil painting class the student will learn how to handle and mix oil paint, how to build a strong composition and how to paint what they see by working from a still life. Each week your instructor Sarah Kaufman will give a painting demo and one-on-one instruction as we explore line, shape, value, color, and texture in this course on painting the still life in oil. All levels are welcome, including beginners!

Sarah has been painting with oil for over thirty years.. She holds a BFA in painting and a master of arts in teaching. She has won numerous awards and has paintings in corporate and private collections around the world. Sarah’s recent work uses a combination of still life, photo references and abstractions to create surreal compositions in oil.
