if you want to draw or paint portraits from life AND photos, join Jim 4 Tuesdays in February . You'll learn how to see and draw/paint with accuracy, from life and, then, use that skill when painting from (color or black and white) photographs.

The first two Tuesdays, you'll work from life models. Jim will demonstrate his method for capturing a likeness and, when painting, how to mix and block in convincing and luminous color shapes.

The remaining two Tuesdays, you'll work from self-supplied photo reference. Whether you decide to work from photos taken during the first two classes OR from personal images, Jim will help you tap the knowledge gained during the previous (life-study) classes to create a more finished and convincing portrait using photos.
