Paper
Paper must be of excellent quality. Either rough or cold pressed, 140 or 300 lb. paper of high rag content. Mary’s own choice for paper is Arches, 140 lb. or 300 lb. If you prefer 300 lb. paper, it will not need to be stretched. Bring at least four (4) full sheets of paper. For supporting and stretching paper, she recommends one 24” x 32 “piece of white Gatorboard. Gatorboard is a lightweight, acid-free board available through many art suppliers. You will also need a staple gun and staples for stretching paper. Students traveling by air will need to pack a smaller support board and smaller sheets of paper to fit the suitcase.
