Maggie Siner: Drama of Still Life

Studio Supplies:

palette (wood or glass, minimum 12x16 inches)

palette knife

palette cup for medium

assorted white bristle brushes (sizes 4, 8, 12, 18, etc.)

cotton rags (such as old T shirts)

drawing board 18 x 24 inches or larger

clips for drawing board

masking tape

small sketchpad, 2B pencil

soft charcoal (various kinds: vine or charkole)

kneaded eraser

Paints:

Cadmium Yellow Light

Cadmium Red Light

Alizarin Crimson

Ultramarine Blue

Cerulean Blue Hue (or Viridian)

Raw Umber

Titanium, Flake or Mixed White (large tube)

Medium: linseed oil or prepared medium of your choice

Solvent: Odor-free Turpenoid

Brush washer or large jar with screen insert and top.

Airtight container for transporting used solvent

Surfaces:

3 - 4 primed canvases, sizes 14x20 to 18x24 (primed to medium tone with ultramarine blue and raw umber. do not add white)

4 additional smaller painting surfaces such as unmounted canvas pieces, masonite

3 matte objects for still life set ups. Do not bring shiny objects or anything valuable. Look for objects with unique shapes and matte colors.
