Angled Artist Paintbrush Set and these bigger fun guys.

Palette Knife. Your favorite. I recommend flexible stainless steel, diamond-ish shape.

Paper Towels.

Apron, if you like.

Total newcomers:

if you want a trial-run to get a feel for painting with oil, here are some cheap tips:

  1. Michaels is often an expensive place to buy supplies. Try visiting Plaza Art Materials or Jerry’s Artarama, Order through Amazon or Dick Blick

  2. Palette: get a “Caution” sign from Home Depot. $2.50. Works great. While you’re there, get these little brushes from the paint section: Angled Artist Paintbrush Set and these bigger fun guys.

  3. Solvent: get a small bottle of Gamsol and bring a couple clean glass or plastic pantry jars with lids from your recycling. I’ll set you up.

  4. Brushes to find at art store: #6 Filbert synthetic or bristle
