The list of materials for drawing is fairly standard. Students are free to bring whatever they want and are used to using.

Consider bringing the following:

Drawing pencils or graphite pencils.

Graphite sticks.

Compressed charcoal.

Vine or willow charcoal.

Charcoal pencils of varying degrees of hardness and softness.

White chalk or white charcoal (if drawing on tinted paper. I would very much like to explore this at some point: working in both directions on a neutral colored paper as opposed to working only in one direction on a white sheet of paper).

One could use any number of drawing papers. Strathmore or Canson Mis Teintes papers are good. If using tinted paper, something relatively neutral is recommended.)

A gum eraser (although the aim is not to have to use it at all).

Something with which to sharpen your drawing materials
