Christina Weaver: Clean Color. 3 Day Painting Workshop. September 10-12, 2027

$600.00

September 10-12, 2027
Friday-Sunday
9:30 am-4:30 pm
12 Students

This painting course takes a methodical, observation-driven approach to color. Through the hands-on study of three color components—value, hue, and chroma—over three days, students will develop the vocabulary and skills needed to articulate their decisions and apply them with confidence.

Working directly from still life, each student will build a painting from the ground up. We will move step by step, first establishing accurate drawing and light structure in acrylic grayscale, then using the underpainting as a foundation for a full-color oil layer.

Sighting and measuring techniques, along with a provided set of visual tools, will support and clarify the process. Along the way, we will break down the mechanics of painting: mixing with a palette knife, intentional brushwork, and edge control. Throughout the class, demonstrations, slideshows, and short exercises will complement individual work time, along with one-on-one feedback and informal group critique.
