The Clothed Figure. Working from a live model on days 1-3, students will model a figure in oil based clay. On days 3-5, the model will be wearing clothing and students will model the drapery on the figure including clothing and relevant props. Alicia will work alongside students providing demos, brief lectures, and individual feedback. The model will be wearing contemporary clothing. Creating a clothed figure opens up new creative possibilities for the figurative sculptor. 

Students will work on a 22-inch armature, standing pose. The armature and clay will be purchased from Warehouse 521.

Experience Level: Some previous experience in Figure Modeling is preferred. 

Supplies:

• Armature/ Alicia will build, Jeanie will collect payment:  $60 

• Clay/JMAC CLASSIC  (12 lbs. per person)

• Tools: bring a variety of wooden modeling tools and metal loop/rake tools...whatever you have!

• Cotton hand towels: You'll need to wipe your hands and tools frequently. 

• Tape Measure

• Packing materials: If you intend to ship your piece home, you may purchase shipping materials in Nashville. Cardboard box, plastic wrap, filler material, and packing tape are generally helpful.
