Figure Study Description

This class is intended for all artists, regardless of skill level.
For the first 25 minutes of this three-hour class, we will focus on drawing short gesture poses. The remaining time will be spent on one pose, which is ideal for painters. Artists drawing the figure can utilize their time by finding another open vantage point to complete a second drawing. This class gives participants the freedom to move in any direction, and at a pace best suited to the individual. Beginners can develop ideas and strategies to produce quality work with instruction available (and encouraged).
All media welcome. Students will bring their own drawing or painting supplies. Drawing boards and easels are provided in the studio. For drawing and gestures, 16×20 or 18×24 pad of newsprint or drawing paper, pencil or charcoal.
