A two day figure drawing workshop taught by Ananda Fetherston will explore the quick and powerful technique of drawing reductively in charcoal. Ananda, a graduate and instructor at the Grand Central Atelier in New York and instructor at Laguna College of Art and Design in California, will share her years of experience working in this method.

By beginning on toned paper and a layer of loose charcoal powder, incredibly atmospheric and tonal drawings will emerge through a pure arrangement of light shapes.

A combination of demonstration and critique will guide each participant through this incredibly emotive and artistic style of drawing.
