Come join us as we watch and learn how to create paintings that sing with energy and life!

This intensive 2-day painting workshop begins with instructor demonstration and lessons on value, color, drawing and composition. Students are encouraged to use large brushes and see form as large masses of color and value.  Keeping the spontaneity and freshness in a painting is key.  Working quickly and decisively, not overworking.

Working from creative still life set-ups, students will learn to:

* See the visual world as planes of color and value

* Develop working methods that keep colors clean and brilliant

* Rely on careful observation, and avoid color decisions based on formulas

* Work with large brushes and keep drawing crisp, edit details

* Identify and mix neutral gray colors

* Develop sensitivity to subtle shifts of warm and cool notes within a color
