Often we begin a portrait painting or drawing with high expectations, but at some point, we loose focus; the drawing or painting soon begins to spiral out of control. Confusion and frustration quickly set in. If this scenario sounds too familiar, this class is designed to help you.   

This three-class series will focus on technical fundamentals, simplification and organization. Learn to see like a portrait artist and, then, to simplify the life-model's complexity using straight lines, angles, shapes, proportions, value, color and edge relationships. You will learn to ignore what you "know" and, instead, paint or draw only what you see.

So, with Jim's guidance, 5 hour poses and a limited class size, you will have three great opportunities to intensively study portraiture. Time to FOCUS!
