Marjorie Hicks Workshop: Capture the Essence of Love Through Paint

SUPPLY LIST

I enjoy painting on oil primed linen boards.  For a less expensive option, I use masonite boards.  I apply a thin coat of acrylic gesso, and another thin layer of a warm white latex house paint.  This surface is wonderful to paint on- I highly recommend it.

Sizes: Day #1:  Please bring one or two large boards (16x20) to be sectioned for several small works. You may also bring smaller boards to be sectioned off for quick studies.  (although we’ll work quickly on these, the idea is to create beautiful simple value studies that you may want to keep for future reference!)  Day #2:  Please bring one or two (depending on your speed) canvases, but keep them on the small side:  9x12,11x14, 12x16, No larger.  The intent will be to create a full expressive painting using skills learned from the day #!
