Maggie Siner: Light, Space and Composition Lecture. Tuesday, November 7th. 6-8 pm

20.00

Tuesday, November 7th
6-8 pm

Principles of composition involve much more than a system of rules or the placement of objects.   Composition is the entire relationship of parts to whole, from the individual brushstroke to the largest shapes. It is about the distribution of light and construction of space and movement inside the rectangle.

The evening slide lecture will introduce these ideas and show how great painting is all about making connections between the brush marks and the whole composition, creating meaningful movements and patterns of light inside the rectangle.  Come hear this fabulous teacher and artist guide us through some of the most successful paintings in history and how sometimes the best compositions break all the rules!
